Leah Brown, Registered Psychotherapist, BA Soc./Psych, MCAP, CCC
My passion as a psychotherapist comes from an unconditional positive regard for each individual experience which has motivated me to work in the field of mental health and addictions for over a decade. When we choose to view human behavior, thoughts and feelings from a curiosity perspective as opposed to judgement, we are more apt to open ourselves up to greater self compassion and healing.
I have always identified with the internal strife of individuals unable, however yearning, to speak from a place of authenticity.
My formative education includes completing my BA(honours) in Sociology/Psychology and Masters in Counselling Psychology. I have completed training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems in addition to numerous certificate programs in mental health and addictions, such as CBT, Crisis and Suicide Intervention, Trauma-informed Practices, Gambling and Substance Addiction. I have been employed in the field of mental health and addictions for 16 years and previous to that another 20 years in Homecare serving physically and mentally challenged adults. My role is to use my skills, expertise and wisdom to help guide you into new ways of thinking and acting that align who you are.
